Syhart has recreated the 40th Anniversary scheme applied to a Luftwaffe Tornado. The decals are printed in both 1/72 and 1/48 scales
It was on 14 August 1974 that the Tornado MRCA prototype P.01 D9591 made its first flight from Manching test base in Germany. The Tornado, designed and used by Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, was also exported to Saudi Arabia.
This scheme in both 1/72 and 1/48 celebrates the 40th anniversary of this flight
For the event, the Tornado 44+61 received a similar scheme to the prototype forty years earlier. During the flight demonstrations, a Tornado from the Royal Air Force (United Kingdom), and Aeronautica Militare (Italy), joined the German 44+61, making several formation passes.
