MH-53J

by: Joe Szczygielski [ MOTHER ]

Contents
This is Cobra Company's re-released MH-53J resin conversion set. The 1/48th kit has been updated and now contains about 40 parts. It is designed to convert Revell's 1/48th CH-53 into a Pave Low configuration.

This set consists of a new nose piece, fuel tanks, ECM antenna, IR jammers, spotlight, sensors and FLIR turret. All the pieces are cream colored and in crisp detail; mine came bubble free. Special care is needed to remove the parts from their thick resin sprues.

The two page instruction and painting guide is excellent and easy to follow without any confusion. They also contains photos of the real aircraft for further references. There is a brief history on the Pave Low which includes a painting guide with FS colors, as well as international colors and camouflage. In addition, Aircraft Resource Center has a
large collection of Pave Low reference photos.

To detail even further, Meteor Productions has a MH-53J Pave Low weapons set #CEC48001 $17.99 and a resin cockpit set #CEC48032 $21.99.
