The Figure and Painting
The figure is light colored resin and white metal. The molding is crisp and the details are nice, right down to the hair and beard and the face it pretty good. It is molded in 5 pieces, the torso, head and legs in one, two arms, the carbine and the saber. The carbine, saber and base are all white metal. The figure is posed with his right foot on a rock and holding the carbine, with the saber hanging behind him.

You have to make the saber straps, but it was simple to do in a piece this size. It was my first 75 mm figure and I like the size. These are older molds but seem to have held up well.
Assembly and Painting
The resin held paint well. I painted the figure a light sand color first and let it dry. I then painted the details such as belts, buckles, piping, eyes, stripes, buttons, etc. before painting the main marts. There are plenty of details. I then painted the main colors and went back over it to fill things in. I kept the arms off until the painting was mostly done. It was a good thing, because I could not have gotten the carbine off otherwise.

I then mixed up a lighter and darker shade of both blues and did some highlighting and shadowing. It seemed to work well.

When I put the arms on I found they needed a little help at the seams, so used some filler, but this also allowed me to finish the piping on the epaulets.
SUMMARY
After a lot of searching I finally found a company that sells a good figure of an early US Dragoon. In this case it is from The Lost Battalion, one of the Worster Signature Line that they sell, which are 75mm figures in resin and white metal.
