introduction

I found this at Harbor Freight Tools (www.harborfreight.com), an airbrush holder (98036-0VGA) that was priced at $9.99. It will hold 4 airbrushes using 2 different styles of holders.

My first impression of it was favorable as it looked solid, had mostly metal construction giving a nice bit of weight to it and was priced right, (especially with one of their % off coupons).

The holder

The Airbrush Holder comes in a box in 2 pieces.
The base comes in black metal thick enough so that is doesn't bend easily, and with normal use will not flex, and has 4 suction cup feet to secure it to your work surface. There is a central receiver that is welded on with 3 spot welds.

The upper part is composed of a heavy metal chromed shaft that goes into the receiver and can be locked down with a screw. It has a metal cross piece that is also spot welded onto the shaft with 3 spot welds. Mounted on the cross piece are 2 airbrush holders to receive your brush by the tip made of plastic , and at the top of the shaft are 2 wire cradle type airbrush holders made of plastic dipped heavy wire. I can't bend them by hand unless I decide to use a lot of force, so under normal use should more than sufficient. All 4 airbrush holders are attached with screws.

In all, the Airbrush Holder weights in at just over 14 oz., has a footprint of 5 1/4 inches by 3 1/2 inches and is 8 inches high.

Conclusion

This is a good item for its price, and I feel that it is just what I need. I've used it several times now including one time with my badger 360 airbrush with a 1 oz paint jar full of future, it proved to be steady enough to not tip over.
SUMMARY
Highs: Metal construction, and ease of putting it away when done.
Lows: Multiple airbrush users might not find it steady enough without adding more weight. Will not hold a fat bodied airbrush such as my Badger 175 Cresendo without doing some modifications.
Verdict: I like this product, it works well and does the job, and it's got a good price point.

Comments

Thanks for the review, Delbert. Harbor Freight is a great place to pick up modeling tools! I've seen similar airbrush holders for $19.99 to $29.99 elsewhere. This one looks plenty sturdy enough and the price is fantastic. Good concise review.
