The Bronco Buffalo has finally arrived in the U.S.A. and I just received mine after being on pre-order for what seemed an eternity. I won’t pretend I know anything about this vehicle, although my interest in modern armor has been growing at a rapid pace and this was one I just knew I had to have.
Darren Baker has offered to do an In-box review of this kit (thank you Darren!), but in the meantime I thought I’d share some photos of the kit to whet your appetite of what appears to be a very impressive kit.
In Bronco’s usual style the kit has a lot of parts, many which are very small and delicate…this is definitely not a weekend build. Mold quality looks to be excellent with the only fault I found in my quick look was some sink marks on the leaf springs.
One of the many things I like in this kit is the separate gauge cluster which can be painted and decaled before attaching to the dashboard.
Three options for antenna array are provided although (once again) Bronco has you make the ‘stick’ antennas from stretched sprue without providing a length. There are also some hydraulic lines or conduits that will need to be fabricated, the instructions call for forming some sprue pieces for these although it looks like wire may be a better solution. Odd, since they do provide three diameters of vinyl tubing for other areas of the kit.
The instruction book looks excellent and included are two addendum sheets, one to correct a simple mistake in the instructions and the other for the radio set which looks like it was added after the kit production had started as the radio sprue is not shown in the sprue layout section of the instructions.
I always enjoy building kits from Bronco and this one looks to be very promising indeed.
