Steffen, Terri
Tried out radub the rivet-r tonight.
Feels robust in a knife handle, Makes nice neat rows of divots, and raised if you use the reverse of thin sheet.

Easy to use, if I can use it anyone can. The holes are round, and the wheels make similar sized holes but with different spacings.
Looks fine for 1/72 I've nothing else to try it on.
I need a better camera to show extreme close up but I'm pleased with the results.

@Rowan; 1/32 again

Today I got Mal Mayfields Miracle Masks for my Nick .. good Jean-Luc already had sent the measures

and the I found a delivery from Hannants at my door (I hate that .. I was the whole day home .... but it was all in and intact ... despite the beaten appearance of the box: one of my next projects: Guy Bordelon F4U-5N

cheers

Only got this cos I ordered two sets of PE for tiger i by mistake and seemed a shame to
leave that lovely brass tarnishing. Will build it for the Big Cats campaign, best part about it?
It comes with a tank commander, magic!

Off Topic: Why do (relatively expensive) airplane kits not have pilots anymore? You always got crew with airfix

Hi Nige

must be a Nazi item ... ebay is blocking me because it might be illegal in my country

I am sure it is a great investment, considering you exclusively build P-47s

cheers

You're really blocked from seeing that Ebay auction?
Well, there indeed are swastikas to be seen on the page, but they're on the side of Gabby Gabreski's Thunderbolt...

Hi all,

Not the postman, but this is what I brought back from the Merchweiler Model Show...

Some kits, many Mark58 display bases, two Quickboost sets, Gator Glue, a Kagero Fw 190 book and the IPMS Deutschland magazine which features Steffen Arndt's superb Eduard Bf 110 in an article. The magazine is a gift from Steffen himself. I met him yesterday and you can see him trying to hide behind a group of Frenchmen (translation: froggies) present at the Mark58 stand...

Steffen, it was a real pleasure to meet you!

Hi Jean-Luc

thanks and it was a pleasure for me too!

... me trying to hide? .. there would be more Frenchmen necessary to try that

This weekend I got broke, still it was a lot of fun!

I was trying to post pictures too, but I cannot get access to my galleries and I do not want to clog up my site with private stuff ...

cheers

How's the ICM LaGG-3, Jean-Luc? I hope we're seeing a review soon?

I've yet to see that one in LSHs near me. Looks like another must-buy kit, and another Finnish build for me, of course. It's gonna be LG-1...

Just guess who still got he South Front kit unbuiilt in his stash...

To keep in the subject, postman brought something for me today as well. My order from Ultracast arrived: two sets of wheel, for a Hellcat and Bf-109.

Hi all,

Steffen, I hope you will post some pictures! I didn't found the time to shoot a single one at the show myself...

Eetu, in the box, ICM's Lagg-3 looks better than the South Front one. It reminds me of the Bf 109 F kit of the same manufacturer quality wise. There are four different upper engine cowlings in the kit so there are many possible options. I will see if I can find the time to do a review of it but I can't promise it will be soon...

Hi Jean-Luc

I started to work on the pix (about 120) yesterday sadly most of my pix are bad (unsharp) but just ask Mark. He went around with his pro camera on a tripod .. bet those pix are very good. Still I will post the photos to my site soon.

cheers

Im envious, I would love to see your work up close Jean Luc!
Yes Eetu, its a price to pay, but its actually quite a bargain, and its an investment for the future. Those books are just so rare you wouldnt believe!

Hi Nige,

That is a real good buy, I had a friend a few years ago who had a copy, in much worse condition and he payed more than that for it. Packed with superb photos, and the way its written really captures the time..

My small bargain, I picked up Monograms Guide to painting Luftwaffe aircraft for a pound at a car boot sale! Couldn't belive it

Latest to arrive in the post, yes Steffen I have a thing for FAA

Now to find some of the kits I'm missing from the ones I want, Hawker Osprey anyone?

Ciao

Hi Jean-Luc

That's exciting - I bought one "blind" last week from Model Hobbies, even though I half-assumed it might be the same kit as the SF version. It should be here later this week.

This arrived this morning

Got it cheap off ebay as it had been dropped and the spine is slightly bent at the bottom, but that doesn't bother me too much.

Hi Daniel

Wow thats pretty steep ... but you cannot replace good tools.

the books are nice ... I busted my limit with those but I got them for a discounted price ... actually I was already off limit but this makes me starve for some weeks .. but that is not too bad for me .. just look at the pic Jaen-Luc posted ten Frenchmen could not hide me

BTW Frenchmen .. as i am preparing a review of the stuff I bought from Mark.58 I uploaded it to my site:

This was just too good to pass it.

cheers

Hi Steffen

Really nice! I'm looking forward to some great dioramas from you!

Small, but perfectly formed! That's probably the best way to sum up what Postie brought today - Rest Models' gorgeous re-worked Heinkel He 112V-6.

I've only had a chance to look at the kit quickly during a break between edits, but it's "jaw on the floor" time, as usual with Ruslan's kits! The quality and the casting are just astounding. Rather than doing a fresh In Box review, I'll go straight for a Full-Build on this one. Watch out for updates soon.

All the best

I would love to believe you .. but knowing you a bit I have my doubts ...

I have contacted Ruslan what this is about (and if there is a possible "conversion kit") but sadly:

Quoted Text

We have changed the big details - a fuselage, wings, a tail. The usual person may not notice at all these changes, but now the model is more similar to the original. There are no changes in small details - devices,
wheels...

He is thinking about selling a conversion, but that does not make much sense IMO as the price will be still high and thus one better buy a new kit.

all the best

Steffen
