Well done Jessica. I too found it very interesting, and I too think there was some filler. The story of her final flight was interesting but I am not a fan of authors presuming to know the unknowable thoughts and actions of the fallen. However, I did find the description of Stalin's role in the mindset of the common soviet relevant to the story.
