I like to know how the Verlinden M113 Tow Under Armor conversion kit is.
I'd like to build this vehicle used by the Canadians and it seems that this is the only kit availabe (I know it's hard to get)

Does anyone have information about this M113 version?

Other than being heavier there is not a lot of difference between the Verlinden resin update and I believe it was Esci or Academy that made a complete kit of one. Very minor differences that only a very observant person might pick up on. Oh yeah the cost is a big difference between the whole model ( cheaper ) than the resin add on.

Just checked the completed updated TOW 113 (US) and the photos/instructions from the Canadian Verlinden update and there are very significant differences in the hatch placement as well as the TOW tower, as well as minor differences in such things as smoke dischargers.

I built the tow add on along time ago and by the sounds of it there,s a specific Canadian upgrade that I,m not aware of. I looked at both finished models and almost no difference between them. I obtained the Verlinden upgrade before the complete kit was issued so maybe it is a different version?

Maybe I should have add some pictures together with my first message but here they are.
As you can see, the M113 TUA (In use by the Canadians) is a different vehicle than the M901 which carries the Emerson TOW turret (also used on the LAV).

Pictures are taken from the The Bucket Shop

Definately a different tow unit than the original Verlinden release. Looks good, I'll have to keep my eyes open for it.

The Verlinden Tow Under Armor kit has the number 568 but is out of production for a while.
The kit isn't very accurate that's why I'm looking for information and alternatives.

I have been working on a scratch built TUA for some time. there is a photo of it at my website model gallery as it appeared just before i put the roof on. See my site at www.trackjam.com. I have sent you some photos and drawings. I don't recommed the Verlinden kit if you want to build an accurate version.

Ahh if we could all build like you that might be an option. After seeing your TUA I might put my Verlinden set up for sale.
