Hi all, welcome to this new IPMS branch. This is a new concept for a branch of the IPMS and as such will develop over time, with input from you the member. So if you have any ideas about how this online branch should progress please let us know.

This branch site is directly linked to the KitMaker/Armorama site(s) so the vast amount of information, articles, features and modellers on those sites are available to you via this site.

The idea for this branch came about because several members of KitMaker tried to meet up at various shows, with some success, but also some of the meetings were not successful. A branch stand at Telford seemed the way to go and this will happen this year.

The main aim for this branch is to encourage the novice, younger and female modeller. All genres will be catered for.

To become a member of IPMS-UK KitMaker Branch you simply become a member of KitMaker (Follow the links to sign up). For IPMS members there will be added benefits (information to follow). Any IPMS member can be a member of any branch, so if you are already an IPMS member registering for the KitMaker Branch will get you the extra benefits (you have to be a member of KitMaker as well). If you are already a member of KitMaker then you will need to join the IPMS UK, to gain the benefits.

That's it for now.

Hi Mal

We met at Telford on Saturday. I was the guy you pursuaded to give "Colorcoats" a go, so I dutifully nipped around to their stand, dropped the hint that you sent me and bought half a dozen tinnies. All I have to do now is find the magic Rustin's potion to make the paint dry. I'll let you know how it goes.

As you can see I also managed to follow your instructions to your new Armorama forum. I've also found, and read, some of your articles, with which I am very impressed. Keep up the good work and I'm sure to become a loyal fan.

Best regards

Hi Mal
Thought I'd pop in and have a look around and its looking good so far. Hopefully this site will do as well as Armorama.
It was nice to meet you at Telford and my daughter has now joined Armorama, so not only do i lose half my modeling desk but computer time too :-) :-).

Bill,
It was a pleasure to talk to you, don't use to much of the Rustins, just a couple of drops, you don't need so much with Colourcoats. They will dry in a reasonable time if using white spirit, but I still use the Rustins. I was told, after talking to you, that if enamel paint is forced to dry to fast it will crack. I have not had this problem so I'm not worried by it.
Sorry I can't remember if I asked you, are you an IPMS member?
Andy,
It was a pleasure to talk to Courtney and yourself, to see a young girl with a 1/35 scale Sherman really made my day. Don't let me push her but it would be great if she could do a little article (see my reply to her posts and my PM). You can imagine how it will give a shove to those that have been thinking about doing articles if Courtney beats 'em to it But it will also help raise the profile of this IPMS site. I think it will also go a little way in boosting her, and any youngsters confidence. Just imagine saying you have written articles for a web site. Sorry if I seem pushy, it's just that you always hear the modelling world saying that we need to encourage youngsters, but know one ever does.
Thanks for sacrificing your modelling desk and computer time

Hi steve,
Yep a great weekend, it will be made if I get the Airfix Spitfire MkIX for review. I'm still recovering I think, next year I will be staying in Telford.
Thanks for your support.
