Chatting to the Clansman
Historicus Forma Artist Q&AThe Historicus Forma (HFModeling.com) Artist Q&A is a monthly feature. It’s an interview with artists of the historical figure modelling world. These artists may include sculptors and painters; commercial and private modellers; well-known and lesser-known artists. Whoever they may be, the artists featured in Historicus Forma’s Artist Q&A are highly respected members of our global community; people who have greatly influenced our world in their own way. As we honour these artists with this humble Q&A and photo feature, they honour us by sharing a piece of their world.
This month, in our pilot edition of the Historicus Forma Artist Q&A, we chat to Joe Hudson, from Missouri, USA.
I am 43 years old and will be turning 44 on 7th of July. I have been happily married for five years and am a stay-at-home Dad to two wonderful boys, Ethan (4) and Brody (3).
I got into figure painting after a serious motorcycle accident over 15 years ago. The accident left me with a serious leg injury that required many months and many long hours of rehab. It was during this long rehab that I needed an outlet and figure painting fit the bill perfectly.
In addition to figure painting, I enjoy watching movies and collecting football cards for my sons. I also like to golf with my wife whenever time permits, hopefully more now that the boys are getting older. Recently, I have also started to sketch and paint watercolors.
Being a stay-at-home Dad allows me to take advantage of my hobby while my boys take their afternoon nap. This allows me to get a head start on my painting in the afternoon which I usually continue in the late evening after the family has gone to bed.
