Pietro Balloni - Profile of a Master Painter
Historicus Forma Artist Q&AThe Historicus Forma (HFModeling.com) Artist Q&A is a monthly feature. Itís an interview with artists of the historical figure modelling world. These artists may include sculptors and painters; commercial and private modellers; well-known and lesser-known artists. Whoever they may be, the artists featured in Historicus Formaís Artist Q&A are highly respected members of our global community; people who have greatly influenced our world in their own way. As we honour these artists with this humble Q&A and photo feature, they honour us by sharing a piece of their world.
This month we chat to Pietro Balloni, master painter over at Pegaso Models.
about meIím 32 and live in Siena. Iíve just bought a house near Pegasoís warehouse. Iím not yet married but I have a girlfriend called Teresa. No kids at the moment.
My hobby became my work. I started work at Pegaso 6 years ago and later I became a business partner of Lucaí and Andreaís in Pegaso.
Itís absolutely nice to have a work that you like as a hobby... painting, going to shows, travelling all over the world and meeting really nice guys everywhere. The only thing is that sometimes you have to paint what Pegaso needs to be painted, so you are not completely free to choose subjects. But is a very low price to pay for the rest!
During the last year I found another hobby (this is a real hobby) and so I became a crazy music CD collector. All my friends know that Iím really mad when I see a CD Shop! I have always been able to find a good music shop everywhere Pegaso goes for figure shows. Folkestone, Athens (I have some great crazy guys there) Germany... everywhere.
