IntroductionWe tend to model the fighting vehicle from WW2, but probably more than two thirds of any army consists of the support units. Drivers, cooks, clerks, medical staff and a whole range of others who all make possible the existence of the Fighting Arms. This is no less true with in a fighting unit, people have to eat, be administered and supplied from the Headquarters Company normally twice the size of the fighting companies/element of the unit. Artillery contributed a huge amount to the success of the Allies, and I choose to do these vehicles as a reminder and tribute to those drivers, cooks and others without whom no fighting unit can successfully operate. These kits were built from the Italeri 6plr Portee chassis, with Accurate Armour Cabs and scratch built tilts and covers. Figures are altered Tamiya ones. Main Loads: in the QLD GS (Special) from Accurate Armour and in the QLD GS from SB Sotia with additional items from the spares box. The QLD represents the RQMS’s truck Q2 from 151st (Ayrshire Yeomanry) Field Regiment Royal Artillery, 11th Armoured Division. The QLD GS (Special) represents the MT Sgt’s truck Q3 from 151st (Ayrshire Yeomanry) Field Regiment Royal Artillery, 11th Armoured Division. My thanks to all who contributed to the builds, especially Cliff aka Mr Roo without whom these would not have been possible.
