1⁄35Sherman Advance - a modellers tale
The 12th August is a significant date for me as it was the date I first dipped my toe into the world of on line modelling, the day in 2005 when I joined this site. This year brings me to a 5 year point and I thought I'd do this feature as a thank you to all those whom Iíve met both here and elsewhere to say thanks for all the input, help and advice.
The early years Ė 2005 to 2007
The early years consisted of a steep learning curve, some success some failure and a lot of fun. I learned that there were different types of Shermanís and that building British kits was possible even though at that point there was still a limited range. Iíve seen the site change considerably from one forum to many subject specialist forums and grow steadily over the years.
Iíve met and made some excellent on line buddies, and been fortunate enough to have met a few personally and established some new and lasting friendships. Iíve seen the flame wars, personal fights and banter, but sure the world would be a boring place if we all agreed all the time. Above all I've seen the dedication and helpfulness of people who enjoy the hobby, try hard to influence developments and provide help and advice to many.
One signficient change for me towards the middle of 2007, and much to the relief of some (many), I finaly bought some backing card to take pictures on!
