Airborne Kit - Duxford 2013

  • move
Military Vehicle Open Day, IWM Duxford, 16th June 2013

This year saw a large gathering of re-enactors and what's great about these chaps is the great range of kit they bring for display. Always ready for a yarn or to give an explanation, they are very helpful to both the older and younger generation alike.

Everything isn't always as it seems but the bulk of the kit is genuine and my thanks to all with whom I spoke and for allowing me to mingle around taking pictures when they were trying to set up. I didn't get to visit the American Airborne display, 101st Airborne I think but perhaps next year. These folks do a great job.

The pictures are form a range of displays and I personally find them very useful for painting references. Enjoy at your leisure.

Al, much obliged for posting these pics up. An invaluable resource. I'm going to eventually go back to my Arnhem dio after I finish my LRDG/SAS dio so this is invaluable research material for painting

Hi Karl, Your welcome. I also took some pics back in 2011 of that might also be of interest. http://armorama.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=3962&page=1 Look forward to your dio. I have a lot of airborne stuff still awaiting a home, but I've been holding back to see if MB actually do their Horsa glider and any other airborne artillery becomes available. Cheers Al
